Apple published support documentation outlining the specific hardware required for the iPhone Duo to achieve its top charging speeds. The company states the device can reach 50 percent battery capacity in approximately 20 minutes when charged via a wired connection. This performance requires the USB-C cable included in the box paired with a compatible power adapter.
The documentation lists Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max as a first-party option. At the time of the report, this adapter was priced at $34. Apple also permits the use of third-party adapters rated for 60W or higher. To function correctly, these external chargers must utilize Adjustable Voltage Supply technology and support USB Power Delivery 3.2 standards.
Wireless charging operates at a slower pace according to Apple’s figures. The company indicates the iPhone Duo reaches 50 percent charge in about 30 minutes via wireless connection. Users must employ a MagSafe Charger, listed at $30, or an adapter rated at 35W or higher. Apple’s guidance identifies compatible adapters from both Apple and Anker for this setup.
Third-party chargers often present better value than Apple’s proprietary power units. The Anker 100W charging brick is noted for its compatibility with iPhones, Macs, and iPads. For those preferring first-party accessories, the reduced price of the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter remains a competitive option. Users seeking more cable reach can purchase Apple’s official 2-meter USB-C cable, which is available at a discount.
