NFC East goes 0-8 in two weeks
Cowboys and Eagles, both 2-4, meet Monday after the division posted its first winless two-week stretch since 1970.

Eight losses. Zero wins. That is how the NFC East fared across the last two weeks, marking the first time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger that all four divisional teams went winless in a two-week span.
The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, both sitting at 2-4, will try to break that skid on Monday night in Philadelphia. The New York Giants hold the division lead at 3-2-1, but the gap is small enough that a win by either challenger keeps them within striking distance.
Philadelphia is coming off a four-game losing streak, its longest since 2020. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve due to blood clots and is expected to miss the rest of the season. That hands the offense to Tanner McKee, who has started just two meaningful games in his career.
McKee had only two days of first-team practice before last week's loss to Carolina. This week, he has a full week to work with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. "I feel like I have a good preparation process," McKee said, noting he plans to consult more with the coaching staff rather than working alone.
The Eagles' running back room is thin. Saquon Barkley is dealing with a hamstring injury, and backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also hurt. Carson Steele, signed off the practice squad, injured his shoulder against Carolina. Dameon Pierce was the only back to carry the ball in that game, rushing for 35 yards. Dallas allows 4.7 yards per carry this season.
Dallas has its own issues. The team ranks 30th in defense under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. Offensively, the Cowboys scored just 29 points in their last two losses, including a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay last week. They have scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive starts for Dak Prescott for the first time since 2019.
Owner Jerry Jones told the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday that he does not expect further coaching changes this season. He described the hiring of defensive assistant Mike Pettine this month as a strategic move.
Several milestones are on the line. Javonte Williams is second only to Emmitt Smith among Cowboys with seven rushing touchdowns through six games. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, a franchise record for six-game stretches, and is nearing 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch for a franchise record. Kickoff is at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN.
