Anthony Lloyd has been on the loose in London since Friday afternoon after forcing his way out of a medical facility in Lewisham. The Metropolitan Police initiated a citywide search for the 38 year old man, describing him as a threat to his own safety and to the general public.
Lloyd left the health unit shortly after 4pm on Friday, October 23. A police statement issued on Saturday indicated that he was last observed heading toward the Catford area at approximately 4.10pm. Officers have instructed residents to call 999 if they locate him and to avoid approaching him directly. Lloyd was described as white, standing 5ft 8in with a medium build and short dark hair. At the time of his disappearance, he wore a grey blue T shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.
Records show Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm. The crime involved an incident in Nottinghamshire where three emergency services workers were assaulted. He received a 12 month custodial sentence and was subsequently transferred to the Lewisham medical facility in September. Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley is leading the investigation. She stated that officers are conducting various inquiries to locate Lloyd and return him to custody. Pressley emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging the public to report any sighting immediately.
Police have noted that Lloyd maintains connections to several regions outside of Greater London. These links span Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside. Consequently, officers believe he could be located anywhere within the capital or within these surrounding areas. Pressley appealed for information from anyone who has relevant details, asking them to contact police as a matter of urgency. The reference number for the case is CAD4739/23Oct.
The search operation is currently focused on determining Lloyd's exact location before he moves further. Police resources are allocated across the identified zones where he has known ties. The force continues to monitor areas where he might seek shelter or support from acquaintances. No other individuals have been reported missing or in contact with him during this period. The medical facility has secured the unit where the escape occurred while the manhunt proceeds.
