Havana Harry’s returned to service at 4612 S. Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables on October 23, 2026, following a 14-month closure. The restaurant, which has operated in Miami for over 30 years, spent the past year undergoing renovations to update its physical space. Owner Felix Palencia confirmed the reopening, stating, "We have a very good-looking restaurant right now, and now we're back!"
The renovation focused on the dining room aesthetics, but Palencia insisted the kitchen operations remain identical to previous decades. "We brought back our flavors. We brought back our generous portions, and our recipes are the same," he said. The menu retains core items that have defined the establishment’s identity for three decades.
Vaca frita remains the signature dish, prepared with slow-cooked shredded meat sautéed with onions and Cuban mojo. The ham milanesa is another staple, consisting of a breaded steak topped with ham, cheese, and milanesa sauce in large portions. Beverage and dessert options include the standard mojito and a dessert called the Nutella Overdose, which combines vanilla ice cream, Nutella, brownie, chocolate crumble, ganache, and whipped cream.
Diners visiting the reopened location noted the visual changes immediately. One customer who arrived for dinner observed the redesign upon entering. "I thought, 'Wow, they've redone the whole place; it looks beautiful,'" the customer said. They added that the food remained "great, like it's always been."
Palencia positioned the restaurant as a destination for traditional Cuban cuisine within the Coral Gables district. He described the establishment as serving "the best Cuban food in Miami." The restaurant is now open to the public at its long-time address on South Le Jeune Road.
The reopening marks the end of a roughly 14-month period where the kitchen was offline. During this time, the physical structure was updated to reflect a modern aesthetic while maintaining the culinary legacy of the original menu. Palencia emphasized that the core mission of providing generous, flavor-focused Cuban meals remains unchanged.
The restaurant's location on 4612 S. Le Jeune Road places it in a central part of Coral Gables. The return to service allows local residents and visitors to access the classic dishes again. The updated interior is visible to all guests entering the dining room.
