Arrow Launch will operate two passenger only ferry departures from Cap Sante A Dock tonight. The first sailing leaves at 8:00 p.m., and the second leaves at 8:30 p.m. Passengers must have tickets to board, and crew members will be present to scan tickets and assist with loading.
The Washington State Department of Transportation identified an issue with the Anacortes bridge infrastructure during an inspection on Monday afternoon. Skagit County immediately canceled regular ferry service pending further checks. Those additional inspections are scheduled for Tuesday morning, October 27.
Arrow Launch plans to resume a limited schedule starting at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The final run of the day is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. from Cap Sante. The Ferry Division stated that they will release more information about service levels later Tuesday morning.
Drivers should park only in designated areas at the Port of Anacortes to allow port operations to continue. The county specifically asked commuters not to stop in zones marked no parking. Because the ferry is departing from a nonstandard terminal, the county asked passengers with mobility concerns to speak with the crew upon arrival.
The county acknowledged that the crew is working to accommodate all passengers while using a different boarding area. They apologized for the disruption and committed to sharing updates as soon as the morning inspections conclude.
