iPhone Duo buyers need a $69 stylus and a separate power adapter for listed features
Apple's first foldable phone arrives without an Apple Pencil or a power adapter in the box, and the software that enables writing support is not yet available.

Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, reached buyers on October 23, and the accessories needed to use two of its advertised features are sold separately. Writing on the screen requires an Apple Pencil, and the fast charging rate Apple lists for the device requires a power adapter that is not included.
The iPhone Duo supports Apple Pencil input on both the outer and inner displays, a first for any iPhone. Apple said the screen proportions were drawn from a standard A-series paper notebook. That support arrives next week with the iOS 27.2 update, and only the Apple Pencil (USB-C) works with the phone. Apple lists it at $69, reduced from $79.
The phone can reach 50 percent charge in about 20 minutes, but only when used with a suitable adapter. The box contains a USB-C cable and no charger. 9to5Mac lists Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max at $34, reduced from $39, and Anker's 100W USB-C charger with a five-foot cable at $29. A person who already owns a 20W adapter at home would not need to buy either.
For use in a car, 9to5Mac points to ESR's MagSafe Car Mount, which clips to an air vent and holds the phone magnetically, at $19 reduced from $29. The writer pairs their phone with CarPlay so the map displays on the car screen while the phone shows turn-by-turn directions in Apple Maps. Cases listed include the SPIDERCASE Magnetic Case at $29 and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro at $39. Apple sells an iPhone Duo Case at $79 and an iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129.
StandBy mode on the Duo displays certain views without the phone charging, including Home Camera and Home Modular, which reach smart home accessories. For that setup, 9to5Mac lists the Aqara G100 2K camera at $39 and a eufy 4K camera at $69. The site also lists AirPods Pro 3 at $199 on sale at Amazon, reduced from $249.
