Jesuit lost its home game to McKinney 35-34 on Sunday after failing to convert a two-point attempt with 16 seconds remaining in regulation. The result occurred at Ranger Stadium during a District 6-6A matchup. This marks the second time in the last four games that a two-point conversion attempt determined the outcome for the Rangers.

Jesuit senior Joseph Konings caught a 39-yard pass from J.P. Livingstone on a fourth-and-14 play. The ball was tipped by Konings and several McKinney defenders in the end zone before Konings secured it. The touchdown brought Jesuit within one point at 35-34. The crowd at the senior night event reacted strongly to the score.

With no timeouts left, Jesuit lined up for the two-point play. A pass was thrown toward Konings, but it missed his outstretched arms. McKinney recovered the ensuing onside kick. The Lions then scored on a single knee to end the game. The contest saw the teams tie at seven, 14, 21, and 28 points at various stages.

Brandon Hickman, the Jesuit head coach, stated there was no hesitation about attempting the win. He noted the team could not generate defensive stops and that the attempt was their best chance for victory. Hickman credited McKinney with outplaying Jesuit for the duration of the contest.

McKinney running back TJ Corbett carried the ball 32 times for 249 yards. He scored all five touchdowns for the Lions on runs of 15, 20, 21, 2, and 31 yards. His final 31-yard score came with 2:31 left in the game. That run concluded a 13-play, 88-yard drive that consumed 5:48 of clock time. Corbett reversed field after appearing to run left, outracing the Jesuit defense.

Jesuit senior Ty Daboub ran for a career-high 194 yards on 26 carries. He scored three touchdowns on runs of 2, 15, and 6 yards. This marks the fifth time this season Daboub has surpassed 100 rushing yards. He now has 944 rushing yards and 16 scores for the season. Konings added nine receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns. J.P. Livingstone completed 21 of 38 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing two interceptions in the first quarter.

McKinney sophomore quarterback Blaze Barr completed 20 of 31 passes for 206 yards. Junior tight end Jayden Washington caught seven passes for 69 yards. McKinney improved to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the district. Jesuit falls to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in the district. This is the fifth meeting between these two programs, and Jesuit now holds a 0-4-1 record against McKinney.

Jesuit plays Prosper Rock Hill Thursday in the regular-season finale. The winner secures the final district playoff spot. Allen, Prosper, and Prosper Walnut Grove have already clinched postseason berths. The Jesuit and Rock Hill winner will join Walnut Grove in Division II, while Allen and Prosper are bound for Division I. Jesuit is seeking its eighth consecutive playoff berth.
