90th minute. That is when Riquelme Fillipi scored his first Major League Soccer goal, pulling Inter Miami to a 2-2 draw with FC Cincinnati on Wednesday night. The goal came from the left side of the box, a location almost identical to where Luis Suárez had put Miami ahead 1-0 in the 61st minute.

Cincinnati controlled the final ten minutes of regulation before Miami's late surge. Kenji Mboma Dem tied the score in the 80th minute. Then, in the 86th minute, Samuel Gidi struck on a counterattack to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. Gidi finished from the top of the box for his first career MLS goal. For a brief period, it appeared the visitors might steal a win on the road.

The match ended with a defensive stand by Ian Fray. In stoppage time, Evander shot from near the penalty spot. Fray got his body in front of the ball to deflect it away. The subsequent corner kick was harmless, and the final whistle sounded shortly after. Lionel Messi finished the match without scoring.

The result leaves Inter Miami in third place in the Eastern Conference. They hold 56 points with two matches remaining. New England reached 58 points on Wednesday after a 3-2 victory over Red Bull New York. That gives the Revolution a two-point cushion over Miami heading into Sunday's matchup.

Inter Miami travels to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday to face New England. This fixture is the penultimate regular-season game for the champions. They conclude the season at home against Charlotte on Nov. 7. The outcome in Massachusetts will likely determine which team secures the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.

For Cincinnati, the draw represents a missed chance to lock in a postseason spot. The club needed a win here and a loss for Columbus to Dallas to guarantee their berth. They remain in pursuit of a playoff position. MLS also announced that Cincinnati will return to Miami on Feb. 19 to open the 2027 Sprint Season, a shortened campaign that bridges the current calendar and the new international schedule starting in July 2027.
