President Donald Trump returns to Ohio on Wednesday for his third visit in a month. This trip comes as voters face record fuel prices and an unpopular war in Iran. The midterms are scheduled for November 3.

The campaign strategy focuses on states that Republicans won by large margins two years ago. Trump visited Mississippi on Monday and Texas on Tuesday. He plans to stop in South Carolina, Florida, Kansas, and Iowa in the coming days.

Vice President JD Vance is scheduled for North Carolina. Republicans there are pessimistic about keeping a Senate seat. Michael Whatley, the former national party chair, faces Democrat Roy Cooper in that race. Cooper served as governor. They are competing to succeed retiring Senator Thom Tillis.

Former President Barack Obama is rallying Democrats in Georgia. He recently criticized Trump in Michigan over White House renovations and his increased wealth. In Georgia, Obama will appear with Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor. Bottoms seeks to become the first Black woman elected governor in the United States. Senator Jon Ossoff will also join the event.

The Ohio Republican ticket includes Vivek Ramaswamy for governor and Senator Jon Husted for Senate. Husted played college football. Trump has praised Husted's physical appearance during stops in other states. Democrat Sherrod Brown is the nominee for Senate. Amy Acton, the former state health director, runs against Ramaswamy.

A late-season controversy emerged from an ad run by Ramaswamy's campaign. Donna Arthur, Acton's mother, called her daughter a liar who needs help in the spot. Arthur has not seen Acton since 1978. Acton states she lost custody of her children after her stepfather was indicted for raping her when she was 12. Trump backed the ad, while Husted and other Republicans distanced themselves from it.
