The Selwyn Diwali festival will run for eleven hours on November 1, 2026, starting at 2 p.m. and concluding at 9:30 p.m. This one-hour shift from previous years allows organizers to fit a denser program of activities into the single day. The event takes place outdoors at Lincoln Domain on 15 Meijer Drive in Lincoln.
Organizers expect thousands of attendees to participate in the free event. The schedule includes more than thirty live performances of Indian and multicultural music and dance. These acts range from traditional folk dances to Bollywood numbers and Kapa Haka. Stage performances begin at 4 p.m. Attendees are advised to bring rugs and chairs to watch the shows.
Cultural activities start at the 2 p.m. opening. Visitors can try their hand at ten different options, including henna art, traditional rangoli, saree draping, and unique crafts. Children have access to a bouncy castle, interactive games, and fun rides. Market stalls will sell traditional costumes, beauty products, and jewelry. Food vendors will serve diverse global cuisines and sweet treats.
The festival organizers, Archna Tandon and Surinder Tandon, are coordinating the event. They can be reached by phone at 021 032 0915 and 021 295 1089 respectively. Email inquiries are directed to selwyndiwali@gmail.com. The event is alcohol-free and offers free parking for attendees.
A fireworks display is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. This finale will end the evening celebrations. The festival promotes zero-waste initiatives through on-site sorting systems and informational displays. The event is family-friendly and open to all members of the public.
The program emphasizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness. It serves as a multicultural celebration within the Selwyn community. The venue remains an outdoor space throughout the duration of the event.
